Framer export tools compared

Framer has no HTML export of its own, so every way to get your site out as files is a third-party tool. Here are the ones we found, ours included, with how each one runs and what it costs.

Which one fits

  • To export from inside the Framer editor, Framer to Code is a plugin in Framer's own marketplace.
  • To try without paying, PullPage and ToStatic have free tiers with limits, and Framer to Code gives three pages.
  • If you also export from other builders, ToStatic covers Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Notion and Lovable.
  • To see the whole site working before you pay, with a refund if the download doesn't work, use unhost.

One tool you may have seen is missing on purpose. unframer exports Framer components as React code for developers, which is a different job from copying a published site.

What you get with unhost

unhost is $19 once per site. That covers:

  • A free live preview of the entire export, on its own address, before you pay anything.
  • Exports that are checked with Framer's servers blocked. They load with 0 broken images.
  • A report with every export that lists what was found on the site: integrations, forms, fonts and CMS collections.
  • Free re-exports of the same site, up to 3 a month.
  • A refund within 7 days if the export doesn't work. See the refund policy.

How to test any export before you rely on it

A copy is only yours if it works without Framer. You can check that in a few minutes, with any tool on this list:

  • Open the export: the downloaded files on a test host, or the tool's live preview if it has one.
  • In your browser's developer tools, block requests to framerusercontent.com and framerstatic.com, then reload. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can all block a domain from their Network panel.
  • Click through every page, including CMS pages. Look for missing images, fallback fonts and animations that no longer run.

Anything that disappeared was still loading from Framer's servers, and it will disappear for real if the original site is ever unpublished.

What no export carries over

Whichever tool you use, a static copy leaves behind the parts that ran on Framer's servers:

  • form submissions, which need a new form backend;
  • editing content through Framer's CMS or editor;
  • site search, password protection and Framer's own analytics.

Will an exported site keep working without Framer?
